The Advising Center provides a wide range of academic support services to all students at the College. Students are encouraged to utilize the staff and resources available to achieve their academic goals. Services include:

All students at River Valley Community College will be assigned an Academic Advisor based on their program. Advisors guide students to map out an education path that supports short and long-term career goals. They also help with course registration.
Student Success Coaching is designed to help students with the non-content-related skills used in courses, such as navigating Canvas, understanding their syllabus, time management strategies, and study skills.
Career Services provides employment and education planning for all students and alumni. They can help with resumé and cover letter writing, interest assessments, interviewing skills, job search strategies, labor market information, and employer information
The Advising Center facilitates transfer visits from colleges that our students typically use as transfer pathways. More information about these events is sent to students via email.
