Graduation Honors - College cGPA

cGPA 3.20 - 3.59 = Cum Laude
cGPA 3.60 - 3.89 = Magna Cum Laude
cGPA 3.90 - 4.00 = Summa Cum Laude

Graduates earning a cGPA of 3.50 or higher are entitled to wear a gold tassel at graduation.

The final cumulative GPA cannot be determined until all program requirements are completed. Therefore, students who have not completed all graduation requirements at the time of graduation are not eligible for graduation honors and will not be awarded a gold tassel. In cases where final grades are not yet posted at the time of the graduation ceremony, honors cannot be determined prior to the ceremony. Honors will be reflected on the student’s transcript once all requirements are completed.

Effective Fall 2027:

As honors are a ceremonial recognition, the criteria applied will be based on the policy in effect at the time of recognition rather than the catalog year associated with the student. Effective fall 2027, the honors policy will be revised as follows:

Graduation Honors - College cGPA
cGPA 3.30 - 3.69 =  Cum Laude
cGPA 3.70 - 3.89 =  Magna Cum Laude
cGPA 3.90 - 4.00 =  Summa Cum Laude
Graduates earning a cGPA of 3.TBD or higher are entitled to wear a gold tassel.
