Massage Therapy: Healing Hands with Heart
The Massage Therapy Certificate program prepares graduates for rewarding careers as licensed massage therapists in private practice, hospitals, chiropractic offices, wellness centers, cruise ships, spas, resorts and fitness centers. The program, which can be completed in as little as 12 months or 24 months, prepares students to enter the field with a broad background and the ability to work with a diverse group of clients and health care providers.
Massage Therapists are in demand! According to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics*, employment for massage therapists is expected to increase by 15% between 2024 and 2034, much faster than average for all occupations. In addition, it was reported that the median annual income for a massage therapist in 2024 was $57,950 per year.

Admission Requirements:
- Meet the college requirements of admission.
- Complete the admission forms.
- Complete the Essential Skills of a Massage Therapist link survey.
- Request transcripts from high school and/or college and have directly sent to RVCC.
- Schedule an interview with the Massage Therapy Program Director
- File for Financial Aid if applicable at: https://fafsa.ed.gov/

Internship Experiences for Real World Learning:
In the final semester of the program, the student meets with the Program Director to choose an internship site that aligns with future career goals. Under the supervision of a Licensed Massage Therapist, Chiropractor, Physical Therapist, Physician or other health care provider, the student gains valuable real world experience.
Learning Expectation:
Consistent mastery of course content is essential for success in the Massage Therapy program. A minimum grade of B- is required in all program courses to progress and graduate, and courses completed with a grade below B- will not count toward program requirements.
Associate Degree and Dual Degree options:
There are several options for students to complete additional coursework to earn an Associate Degree along with the Massage Therapy Certificate. Some options include: Liberal Arts, or dual majors with Occupational Therapy Assistant or Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Additional Information
Upon completion of the program, the student is responsible for the following initial license requirements per the State of NH OPLC.
